According to the Companies Ordinance of the Laws of Hong Kong, every Hong Kong Company must appoint a company secretary who must reside in Hong Kong or a body corporate that must have its registered office in Hong Kong.  Of all the duties, the company secretary has to make certain that the company is in compliance with the statutory requirements of the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance and must maintain the statutory books and records of the company. 


The daily duties of the Company Secretary are generally wide in scope and may range from administrative duties such as personnel management and the maintenance of company accounts and registers, to duties as diverse as ensuring that the company complies with regulation or advising the directors on good corporate governance practice.


In summary, company secretary would be responsible the following duties:
